Cloaked Pay is a Virtual Card feature that lets you shop online without sharing your real credit card number, protecting you from fraud without compromising security or convenience.
Currently, Cloaked Pay is included as part of a paid Cloaked subscription plan.
Cloaked Pay is currently open to:
- U.S. citizens residing in the United States
- Individuals who are 18 years or older
- Individuals who pass identity verification
If you’re ready to apply for Cloaked Pay, you should expect to complete a couple things:
1. Identity Verification
- To comply with financial regulations, you’ll need to complete a one-time identity check. This process verifies your legal name, address, and ID to ensure secure, compliant access to Cloaked Pay. It typically takes just a few minutes and is required to be completed so that you can use our Cloaked Pay features.
- Note: You must be U.S. resident with a valid, state-issued ID, 18 years of age or older
2. Setting Up Your Cloaked Pay Dashboard
- Once your identity is verified, your Cloaked Pay dashboard will be unlocked in the Cloaked app. This is where you’ll manage:
- Masked payment cards
- Generate unique Cloaked Pay cards for each transaction or merchant, so your real payment credentials are never exposed online. You can pause, delete, or regenerate cards at any time!
- Funding sources
- Connect one or more funding sources to your Cloaked Pay account. Cloaked Pay will protect these cards by assessing funds availability via lightning check to the underlying account, and creating a Cloaked Pay card. These funds will also be utilized to pay your Cloaked Pay balance. . Supported funding sources include:
- U.S.-issued credit cards
- U.S.-issued debit cards
- Bank accounts
- Connect one or more funding sources to your Cloaked Pay account. Cloaked Pay will protect these cards by assessing funds availability via lightning check to the underlying account, and creating a Cloaked Pay card. These funds will also be utilized to pay your Cloaked Pay balance. . Supported funding sources include:
Note: If a funding source is declined multiple times, our payment partner may block further attempts for that specific card. If that happens, you’ll need to add a new funding method to continue using Cloaked Pay.
- Spending activity and controls
- Set spending limits, merchant lock your card (not just complete block/unlock) s, or enable one-time-use only. These controls give you full visibility and protection with every transaction. You’re always in control of how and when your funds are used.
3. Generating Your First Masked Virtual Card
- After setup, you’ll be able to create your first Cloaked Pay virtual card. This card can be used anywhere online that accepts Mastercard. Your underlying card details will be protected at every swipe, and you can limit privacy exposure or breach threats at every merchant. And, each card can be locked, deleted, or limited by you at any time.
