Cloaked is a privacy-first company, and we take data storage and sharing concerns extremely seriously.
When you complete the Cloaked Pay onboarding process, the information you provide is not stored on Cloaked’s servers. Instead, the verification process is securely handled by a trusted third-party partner that specializes in identity verification and regulatory compliance.
Here’s how it works:
- Encryption: Your information is encrypted and sent directly to our verification partner for the sole purpose of confirming your identity.
- Secure storage: Our partner maintains an encrypted, high-security record of your verification, as required by law. These records are isolated within their system and never accessible by Cloaked staff.
- Separation of duties: This clear separation ensures that your sensitive data remains private and protected at every step.
When you cancel or close your Cloaked account, we follow strict data retention policies. As outlined in our Privacy Policy, Cloaked deletes or de-identifies your data once it’s no longer needed. We may retain limited information, such as transaction or billing records, only if required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
