This guide will walk you through completely turning off T-Mobile ScamShield. You need to complete both steps below to ensure ScamShield is fully deactivated, preventing any conflicts when you set up Call Guard and ensuring you're no longer billed by T-Mobile. Simply uninstalling the app isn't enough and can lead to missed calls.
What you need to do:
- Step 1: Turn off the main call blocking using a dial code (works for everyone)
- Step 2: Disable remaining features through the app or website (prevents call labeling and other functions)
Important: Simply deleting the ScamShield app does not turn off spam filtering. You must complete both steps below.
Step 1: Disable Core Blocking (Required for All Customers)
This disables the main call blocking feature:
- Open your Phone app
- Dial #632#
- Press Call
- Wait for confirmation message that says "Your request to disable Scam Blocking is being processed. Please wait a few minutes for Scam Blocking to stop."
Important: This dial code only turns off the core "Scam Block" feature that automatically blocks calls. However, other ScamShield features like call labeling and premium services may still be active. Continue with Step 2 to fully disable all ScamShield features.

Final Steps and Verification

- Have someone call you who might have been blocked before
- Check that calls come through normally
- Verify voicemail is working properly
- Monitor for 24-48 hours to ensure settings have fully taken effect
Uninstall Apps (Optional) Once ScamShield is fully disabled, you can uninstall the original ScamShield app if you still have it:
For iPhone:
- Touch and hold the ScamShield app icon
- Tap "Remove App" and confirm
For Android:
- Go to Settings > Apps > ScamShield
- Tap "Uninstall" and confirm
Note: Keep the T-Life app if you use other T-Mobile services.
Important Troubleshooting
If calls are still being blocked:
- Double-check that you dialed #632# correctly and received the confirmation message
- Wait 24 hours for all settings to fully propagate through T-Mobile's network
- Contact T-Mobile customer care at 611 to verify all blocking features are disabled
If you can't find ScamShield in T-Life:
- Update the T-Life app to the latest version
- Sign out and back into the app
- Use the My T-Mobile website method instead
For Prepaid Customers: If you have T-Mobile Prepaid and can't access the T-Life app features:
- Use the dial code method (#632#)
- Visit a T-Mobile store for assistance
- Call 611 for customer care support
For Family Plans: ScamShield must be disabled individually for each line on your account. Repeat these steps for each family member's phone number.
