Ready to activate your AI phone assistant? Setting up Call Guard involves a few steps to ensure it works seamlessly with your phone and carrier. Here’s how to get started:
Before You Begin:
- Ensure you have the latest version of the Cloaked mobile app installed.
- You need a verified phone number associated with your Cloaked account. This is the number Call Guard will forward legitimate calls to.
Setup Steps:
- Open the Cloaked app and find the Call Guard setup option (often on the Home screen or in Profile > Call Guard Settings). Tap it to begin.
- Watch the demo video showing how Call Guard handles calls, then tap "Continue".
- When prompted by the Cloaked app, grant Cloaked access to your phone's Contacts. Make sure to select “All Contacts”
- When prompted by the Cloaked app, tap "Continue" and then allow Cloaked to send Push Notifications when prompted by your phone's operating system.
- iOS ONLY:
- Follow the prompts within the Cloaked app to navigate to your iPhone Settings and disable the "Live Voicemail" feature. Return to the Cloaked app.

- Confirm the phone number you want Call Guard to forward important calls to. If a number isn't pre-filled, or you need to change it, enter the correct number. You may need to verify it via an OTP code sent to that number.
- Enter the first name you want the Call Guard AI assistant to use when greeting callers (e.g., "Hi, you've reached [Name]'s AI assistant...").
- Follow the steps to enable Call Forwarding with your carrier:
- Confirm your mobile carrier detected by the app, or tap to select the correct one from the list. Choose "My carrier isn’t listed" if necessary.
- Tap "Call Now". This will open your phone's native dialer app with a special activation code pre-filled.
- Press the call button within your phone's dialer app to activate conditional call forwarding.
- Hang up when the call ends or when instructed by your carrier's automated message. Return to the Cloaked app.
- Confirm your mobile carrier detected by the app, or tap to select the correct one from the list. Choose "My carrier isn’t listed" if necessary.
- Wait a moment while the Cloaked app performs a brief test call to confirm call forwarding is active. You might see your phone ring briefly from a Cloaked test number – you do not need to answer this call.
- Note that if you already have a spam blocking service like one provided by your carrier you may need to turn it off before you can finish upgrading to Cloaked Call Guard

Troubleshooting:
- Carrier Not Listed: If you select "My carrier isn’t listed," the app will provide standard forwarding codes. Follow the prompts carefully.
- Test Call Fails: If the confirmation step fails, double-check you dialed the activation code correctly, ensure you have cellular service, or try selecting a different carrier/code if applicable. Tap "Troubleshoot" in the app for more help or contact support.
