Setting up the Mobile App (Android and iOS)

Alongside our Cloaked Browser Extension Cloaked offers mobile apps for both iOS and Android. Both of these can be found on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store respectively.

Prerequisites

  • One of:
    • Android Phone running Android 8.0 or Later
    • iPhone running iOS 16 or Later
  • Mobile Data/WiFi Connection
  • Located in the US (North America)
  • A Cloaked Account or a desire to create one!

If the app does not show in your App Store this is likely due to the Cloaked App not being available in your country yet. We are working hard to expand Cloaked to other countries around the world but can only guarantee full support in the US right now.

Setting the app up (new account)

When setting up the Cloaked app for the first time as a new user you will need to create an account. This can be done via the mobile app. To start you will need to select the 'Try it free' option on the main screen of Cloaked after installing the app.

You will also be prompted to download your recovery key. Please store this key securely and feel free to reference our Recommendations for Saving and Storing your Recovery Key.

Setting the app up (existing account)

When setting up the Cloaked app for the first time you will need the same username and password that you would normally use to sign in to the Cloaked Dashboard and Extension on your computer.

To start you will need to select the 'Login' option on the main screen of Cloaked after installing the app.

Enabling Touch ID/FaceID or Biometric Security

This is optional and Cloaked cannot read/or see any of your biometric information as this is handled by your device and allows you to log in to the app without having to manually enter your password each time you wish to use it.

Enabling biometric security on your mobile device does not enable this on your Cloaked Dashboard so you will need to continue logging in using your existing username or password.

An example of enabling TouchID on an iPhone - these steps will be similar for FaceID and Android.

Note: If you have Biometrics enabled in your Cloaked account you can also use this to authorize the download of your Cloaked Recovery Key via the Cloaked App.
